  1. Our wedding was Harry Potter themed. Starting with the bridesmaids and groomsmen. Each girl wore one house colour with her bouquet also the colour of her house and the boy’s ties and corsages were the same colour as their respective bridesmaids. I wore cobalt blue shoes and the Ravenclaw diadem since I am a proud Ravenclaw. My nails were also blue as were the flowers in my bouquet mixed with white. I also had small blue stars on the side of my eyes as part of my makeup. My husband wore the same Ravenclaw blue suit and silver waistcoat as our groomsmen but he was a bit more decorated Our celebrant (who had dressed up like Professor Minerva McGonagall) weaved in fantastic Harry Potter references all the way through the ceremony and we even did our own version of the Unbreakable vow using the very lines from the movie itself. We of course had a Dumbledore quote before exiting and we exited to Hedwig’s theme. Our bridesmaids and groomsmen all had wands and lined the path as we left holding them up in a salute. We got photos of all the pairs dueling (even me and my husband) and we even took some photos with the wands at the very end of the night keeping true to the theme all the way through. At our reception we entered to the Entrance To The Great Hall theme from the very first movie and all the house colours were mixed together as table centers. Our tables were named after locations: Hogwarts. Hogsmead, 12 Grimmauld Place, Godrics Hollow, Diagon Alley, and The Burrow. The Bridal table was naturally the Ministry of Magic. My MC was dressed as a Ravenclaw student. The main cake was Ravenclaw blue and had streaks of gold with a golden snitch and the famous “Always” on top with the Deathly Hallows above it. For the guests, we had cupcakes that were Ravenclaw blue and white with little edible gold decorations on top. Our Welcome sign was done in Harry Potter writing as were the table name cards and our name cards for when we played a game that my MC quite creatively set in the Harry Potter world by asking us questions like “who would be better at quidditch?” or “Who would be better at *insert class name here*?” We didn’t forget our villans of course. I ended up with a staff that reminded me greatly of one Lucius Malfoy however one of my younger guests took ownership of that for the night. Our party favors were key bottle openers and were like the flying keys from the first movie. Our invites and RSVP cards were also Harry Potter inspired so even the planning stages were Harry Potter. This is why I think I am Australia’s biggest Harry Potter fan. Of course, all my merch and the Supernova photo with Tom Felton also helped. I will attach the link to my pictures so you can see that everything I said is all true.
