I’ve been a Little League Baseball Umpire for several years, I believe there some basic principles to sport & they are Respect, Enjoyment, support & Encouragement & sport should be enjoyable.
Little League Baseball promotes “Character, Courage, & Loyalty” & with this in mind, sport to me is many things, such as when a father drives his son 2.5 hours so can that young man can play the game he loves, then when finished returns 2.5 hours home, or when a young baseball team wins a championship then presents a signed game ball & team cap to the MVP on the opposing team, or when a pitcher goes & high fives a batter who just hit a home run off his pitch. This is what sport represents to me.
Thank You for the opportunity.
Many Thanks
Mark Gilmour
What sport means to me is that it helps me, comforts me and it’s a place where I can go enjoy myself. Sport (basketball) helps me find my happy place in life. Sport is so special to me because we even have our very own basketball court in our own front yard. For the last 12 years I have considered sport as my number one priority for my health and wellbeing. Sport is an important part of my life and all my family agrees that sport is something that brings us together.
many thanks
